Othello Crash, Ritzville, Washington; Three Teens Killed While Presiliano Perez-Pineda Faces Felony Charges

On April 26, a tragic crash outside Othello turned a quiet rural roadway into a scene of devastation after three teenage girls were killed in a violent rollover accident near West Bench Road.

Deputies responding to reports of a serious crash discovered an overturned pickup truck that had come to rest in a nearby irrigation canal. All three teenagers who had been inside the vehicle were ejected during the crash and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators later determined that the crash involved a second vehicle. Evidence from the scene, including debris patterns, witness statements, and surveillance footage, indicates that a white Mercedes sedan struck the pickup truck at a high rate of speed, causing it to roll over.

Following the collision, authorities allege the driver of the Mercedes fled the scene instead of stopping to render aid. The decision quickly became a key focus of the investigation.

Law enforcement later identified the suspect as 19-year-old Presiliano Perez-Pineda of Othello. He was arrested and appeared before a judge in Ritzville, where bail was set at $1 million. He faces three counts of vehicular homicide, along with a domestic violence enhancement related to one of the victims due to a prior relationship.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash and the events that followed. Officials say they are working to fully reconstruct what happened in the moments before impact.

The identities of the three victims have not yet been publicly released, but their loss has deeply affected the Othello community. Families, friends, and neighbors are mourning the tragedy as the town comes to terms with the sudden and heartbreaking loss of three young lives.

Authorities have extended condolences to the families and say the investigation remains ongoing.
